“Healing isn’t just about talking—it’s about transforming with actions.”
Shehrish Thapa, LPC, LMHC.
Welcome!
A little more about my story…
My journey began in the foothills of the Himalayas, where I spent my early days in Darjeeling, India, and Kathmandu, Nepal, raised in a blend of rich cultural traditions and emerging Western influences. I’ve navigated the complexities of identity, belonging, and family expectations. I know what it’s like to feel disconnected, to question where you fit in, and to carry the weight of being “the strong one.”
But I also know this: healing is possible. Hardship doesn’t have to define us—it can teach us.
I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves a life that is meaningful and aligned. I don’t claim to know everything—I’m human, just like you. But I bring deep curiosity, lived experience across various roles, and a commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy that honors who you are. Healing isn’t about being “fixed”; it’s about understanding yourself in a way that feels real, unraveling the narratives that no longer serve you, and creating a life that is authentic.
Why choose to work with me?
Therapy with me is:
Deep yet Practical: It's not just about surface-level work. We go deep—exploring the “why” behind your patterns—while integrating actionable strategies for real change.
Authentic & Challenging: I’m not a passive listener. I hold space with warmth and care, but I’ll also challenge you to break free from cycles that no longer serve you.
Culturally Informed & Identity-Aware: As an immigrant, a parent/mother, a woman of color, and someone in a biracial relationship, I understand the push and pull of multiple identities and roles. Your story is layered, and therapy should honor that.
Evidenced- Based- My therapy approach is evidence-based, grounded in scientific research, and continuously refined through ongoing education and the latest advancements in psychology.
Relational & Insight-Oriented: Whether we’re working on self-growth or relationships, I help you see the patterns that shape your interactions—with yourself and others.

REST
Why Rest?
Throughout my work as a therapist, I noticed a common theme—exhaustion. My clients were overwhelmed, running on empty, and struggling to find space to slow down. At the end of sessions, I often reminded them: It’s okay to pause. Healing doesn’t happen when we push through; it happens when we allow ourselves to rest.
REST Mental Health was born from this simple but profound truth. Rest is not just the absence of activity—it’s the foundation of resilience, clarity, and transformation. When we truly rest, we recharge our minds, regulate our emotions, and reconnect with ourselves. It’s in these moments of stillness that we find the strength to move forward.
REST Therapy Framework: For self-discovery and meaningful change.
R - Reflect
True healing begins with reflection. We explore the patterns, beliefs, and narratives that have shaped you—helping you make sense of your experiences and create space for new beginnings.
E - Embrace
Growth requires self-acceptance. Together, we hold space for the full spectrum of your emotions—meeting discomfort with compassion and curiosity rather than fear or resistance.
S - Shift
Healing requires action. We identify the thoughts, behaviors, and relational patterns that no longer serve you, allowing you to move forward with intention and purpose.
T - Transcend
You are more than your past. Transcend the limitations that have held you back and step into a life that feels deeply aligned, fulfilling, and true to who you are.

Therapy is more than a conversation—it’s a commitment to yourself. Are you ready to step into the life you deserve?
